In the summer of 2019, I lived with a group of teachers, in Mabaruma, Guyana. I and the group of educators I traveled with, worked together with teachers and the Guyanese Ministry of Education to provide relevant professional development to teachers that is often not available in rural communities. In an effort to represent a sense of place and an appreciation for the experience of having been fully embraced and accepted by the community, I made these images.
